As you level up in Throne and Liberty, you gain Stat points you can allocate between four different attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Wisdom, and Perception. While these seem like they stick to the usual RPG diction, there are several nuances you need to be aware of to properly min-max your build. There's no jack-of-all-trades build in Throne and Liberty, and there are a limited amount of stat points you can invest, so you have to make them count for your build goal.

In this beginner-friendly guide, we'll explain what each of the stats in Throne and Liberty do.

Levelling up stats in Throne and Liberty is fairly straightforward. Each time you level up, you gain one Stat Point you can put into one of the following stats:

  • Strength
  • Dexterity
  • Wisdom
  • Perception

All of these start out at 10 for a level 1 character, and you can spend a Stat Point to increase the chosen stat by a single point. However, once a stat is at 30 (sans any bonus from equipment), each additional increment costs 2 Stat Points instead.

Can you respec stats in Throne and Liberty?

Yes. Stats can be fully reset at any point from the Character Info menu. In the global release version, this costs nothing, letting you freely reset and redistribute stat points as you see fit.

In other words, getting your stat build wrong in very easy to fix in this game. On that note, here are 5 rookie mistakes to avoid for your first Throne and Liberty character.

What does each stat in Throne Liberty give you?

Base Damage

Regardless of what stats you pump, each stat point beyond 10 increases your base damage output. This is not tied to any weapon type, so all character gain some degree of damage from leveling up stats regardless of their class.

Secondary effects

Other than this, though, each stat gives you at least four additional benefits. These are the benefits that you have to look at to determine whether your build benefits from them.

Break-point bonus effects

In addition to their per-point benefits, all stats also unlock additional major buffs at lvl 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70.

The following is a complete breakdown of all four Throne and Liberty stats.

Strength

Strength, as one would have guessed, is the endurance stat in Throne and Liberty. It increases your total HP pool, natural health regen, and defense against both melee and ranged attacks (PvE and PvP). Note that it does not increase Magic Defense, for which you'll have to rely on Accessories such as Rings and Bracelets.

Strength also happens to be the main damage stat in this game, as its third break point bonus gives you a higher Heavy Attack Chance. Heavy Attacks essentially mean you strike twice with one damage roll, which is more powerful than crits in this game.

Each point in Strength gives you:

  • Base Damage (Minimum and Maximum)
  • Melee Defense
  • Ranged Defense
  • Max Health
  • Health Regen

Additionally, here are the break-point bonuses you get from Strength:

  • Strength 30 - Max Health 750
  • Strength 40 - Damage Reduction 15
  • Strength 50 - Heavy Attack Chance 100
  • Strength 60 - Max Health 900
  • Strength 70 - Ranged Defense 200, Max Health 450, Melee Defense 200

Here are the sub-stats and factors affected by Dexterity in Throne and Liberty:

  • Attack Speed
  • Base Damage (Maximum)
  • Melee Critical Hit Chance
  • Ranged Critical Hit Chance

Dexterity also gives additional bonuses for the following break-points:

The Wisdom stat is probably the most skippable in Throne and Liberty. In general, you only want to pump points into it in builds where you run into mana problems constantly. The break-point bonuses also grant Cooldown speed for skills, but that is not high enough for a 50-point Wisdom dip on most builds.

Here are the sub-stats affected by Throne and Liberty's Wisdom attribute:

  • Base Damage (Maximum)
  • Max Mana
  • Mana Regen

Here are all the extra bonuses you gain from Wisdom for reaching break-points:

  • Wisdom 50 - Cooldown Speed +5%

Make sure to get a few points of Wisdom in on highly mana-intensive builds such as Crossbow-Dagger (Scorpion).

The Perception stat in Throne and Liberty is a go-to for utility builds that focus on crowd-control (CC) abilities. Each point in this stat increases all sorts of CC to proc successfully, which can be especially devastating in large-scale PvP. In PvE, it also makes you more likely to successfully land hits on enemies. In the currently available end-game content, a Hit Chance score of 400-500 is considered sufficient.

Here are the sub-stats and factors affected by Perception in Throne and Liberty:

  • Melee Hit Chance
  • Ranged Hit Chance
  • Magic Hit Chance
  • Weaken Chance
  • Stun Chance
  • Petrification Chance
  • Sleep Chance

  • Perception 60 - Hit Chance 120
  • Perception 70 - Hit Chance 60, All forms of CC Chance 60

Which stats should you increase for your Throne and Liberty build?

You get a total of 49 Stat Points from reaching max level in Throne and Liberty. However, your gearing choices can also give you a good ramp-up in various stats. Plan out your Epic gear sets in advance to gain the right amount of stats. The general idea is to hit break-points in stats that would be useful to you with a combination of both natural stat gain from leveling and additional stats from itemization.

Since you can easily respec for free, you can swap around stats based on the situation. For beginners, here are some general rules you can follow to make the choice easier when leveling up your stats in Throne and Liberty:

For Tanks and DPS: Strength is the best stat to max for DPS in most PvE content, as long as you have enough hit chance to ensure you're not missing hits.

  • Tanks should prioritize getting their Strength to 70 (gearing + stat point allocation), and get 30 Perception for the buff durations.
  • DPS should generally split most of their stats between Strength and Dexterity. Usually, 50 Str + 40 Dex gives you the best bang for your bucks even if you're a weapon class like Crossbow-Dagger that seem like they would benefit from Dex the most.
  • If you're playing PvP, some players will have high Evasion, so consider respeccing to put some more points into Perception to reach 30.

For Healers: Dexterity is the best stat to pump if you're playing a Healer.

  • Pure-healing classes tend to stay out of the fight, so you don't need the raw HP from Strength. Instead, focus on maxing out Dexterity.
  • Once you've hit 60/70 Dexterity (gearing + stat points), you can go for more Wisdom for lower cooldown or more Perception for more utility-focused approach.

Utility: For builds specific to large-scale PvP, a Perception-heavy build is viable for general debuff and crowd-control against opponent hordes. However, this is for more advanced and organized party comps, so don't worry about it as a beginner. If you're just leveling or playing PvE, you can respec to put a few points in Perception if you find yourself missing attacks often.

  • There's no fully pure utility role yet in Throne and Liberty, so generally, you also want to focus on one other stat to make use of your non-CC abilities during downtime.
