The Throne and Liberty: Unidentified Contaminant Quest is sort of an exploration adventure that you can undertake in-game. It's not complicated, but as with all quests, it will take some time and effort. It will take you to the sunny Windhill Shores region wherein you will have to perform a few basic tasks to complete it, which will grant you a few rewards.

To complete the quest, there are four major steps that you will undertake. The last one will involve a bit of combat, but nothing that you shouldn't be able to handle.

1) Converse with Windhill Shores Researcher at Spiral Cliff

To start the quest, you will have to talk to the Windhill Shores Researcher at Spiral Cliff. It is located south of the Windhill Shores waypoint. It shouldn't be too hard to spot. The NPC will be located at the base of the stone tower.

2) Obtain the Magical Reagent

Once you talk to the Windhill Shores Researcher, you will be tasked with obtaining a Magical Reagent. This might seem to be a daunting task, but fret not, as it will only take you a few seconds to complete this task. Simply interact with the wooden rack next to you to obtain the item.

3) Use a Glide Morph and spray the Unidentified Contaminant

The next step will involve you reaching a floating wooden platform without coming into contact with water. To do this, it is recommended that you use your Glide Morph from a high vantage point. When above the wooden platform, simply descend slowly to reach your destination without setting foot in the water.

Once in position, interact with the Unidentified Contaminant to complete the task. Keep in mind that you will have a minute to complete this part of Throne and Liberty: Unidentified Contaminant Quest after you collect the Magical Reagent. Time is of the essence. Perhaps do a trial run before collecting the Magical Reagent to charter out the safest path to the wooden platform.

4) Defeat Large Stone Crab

The final part of the Throne and Liberty: Unidentified Contaminant Quest will task you with defeating a Large Stone Crab. Sounds easy enough but, there is a small catch. The creature must have the "Wet" status effect when slain.

An easy way to do this is to agro the creature, lure it into the water, and return to land to defeat it. Once done, you will have completed the Throne and Liberty: Unidentified Contaminant Quest.
