Two years after release, Warhammer 40k Darktide will finally have a co-op Party Finder feature

Warhammer 40k Darktide is finally getting the feature that fans believe should have been available since its launch. In the upcoming Unlocked and Loaded update, releasing on September 26, Warhammer 40k Darktide will add a Party Finder (formerly referred to as the Group Finder) to the game.

Players can use this feature to finally group up with others in-game instead of relying on third-party platforms. Other than the Party Finder the new update will also add lots of new content and quality-of-life changes to the game. Since its initial release, Darktide has emphasized cooperative gameplay a lot. It is specially designed for players to team up and tackle missions together. However, the methods for forming parties were limited. Players could either form groups through the Mourningstar hub or by connecting with friends directly. Naturally, this feature was deemed to be very random and restrictive.

It did not take long for developer Fatshark to notice how players were finding their own workarounds by turning to third-party platforms like Discord, Reddit, and the Fatshark forums to form parties. This trend reached new heights after the Path of Redemption update, which introduced penances and other group-centric challenges.

Taking note of the feedback, the developers have confirmed that as the Unlocked and Loaded update goes live on September 26, a new Party Finder feature will be added to Warhammer 40k Darktide. This new Party Finder will allow players to input class-specific tags to build a party with members of their desired classes.

When it launches, the Party Finder will also let players filter and search for parties based on four primary criteria: Game Mode, Difficulty, Language, and Assorted Tags.
