Vesper's Host is the name of Destiny 2's newest Dungeon in Episode Revenant. Players will find it within the game on October 11, 2024, only three days after the Episode goes live. Vesper's Host may also become one of the primary sources for Pinnacle gear pieces, as it will be the newest Dungeon entry after Warlord's Ruin. Starting October 11, the new Dungeon will also have enabled Contest Mode for all players.
Vesper's Host also becomes the first Dungeon in the game's history to have Contest Mode implemented, alongside a special race where the top three fireteams get prizes. The Contest Mode will be enabled for 48 hours, and the Normal Mode will be enabled when the first three fireteams clear the Dungeon.
Full details of Vesper's Host Dungeon Race in Destiny 2
The Vesper's Host Dungeon in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant will be the first of its kind to get a Contest Mode. Hence, there are a few things that each participant should be aware of, before participating in the race on October 11, 2024.
The power requirement for the Vesper's Host Contest Mode will be 1985 for all encounters. Any player below this power level will deal less damage to enemies, and take more damage. Any level above this requirement won't matter, as all players will be capped at 1985.
Regarding other requirements, players also must own The Final Shape Dungeon Key to enter the Vesper's Host, as this isn't free content. It also seems that Spider, an old memorable NPC in the game, will return alongside the Dungeon mission in Episode Revenant.
As far as the completion criteria go, a fireteam must defeat the final encounter of the Dungeon, and loot the final chest. The last bit is important, as Bungie warned that completion might not get counted otherwise. Readers must go through Bungie's completion rule for Vesper's Host for full details.
Here is a list of things that players will encounter while the Contest Mode remains active in Destiny 2's Vesper's Host:
- Increased aggressiveness of enemies.
- Resurrection tokens in encounters.
- Enrage mechanic to limit players on the number of phases or time to complete an encounter.
- Completing the Dungeon in Contest Mode will grant a special Emblem. The completions in Contest Mode will guarantee a drop of the Dungeon Exotic.
There will be Twitch Rivals drops active for the duration of the race, between 9:30 am PT on October 11 and 10:00 am PT on October 13.
