Black Desert Online has always been known for its PvP, but with the 600-player battles in the War of Roses update, the content will be better than ever. Since its launch, BDO has pushed large-scale content with guilds fighting over map nodes and open world boss fights. It seems that Pearl Abyss has decided to double down on this style of content with their newest patch. The War of Roses update adds in a massive PvP game mode that allows leading guilds from two 300-player teams to fight.
This new update went live just yesterday, on July 10, and is available to anyone who owns the game. If you're new to Black Desert Online it can be a bit daunting to get started, but it's worth catching up for this new update. Here we'll explain why the War of Roses update has players so excited.
Combat in War of Roses
In the newest Black Desert Online PvP patch, two 300-player teams will face off in mass-scale combat. The main mode of play will involve one team attempting to defend a castle while the other tries to capture it.
A capturing team can engage in normal face-to-face combat with their enemy or they can utilize siege weapons and naval combat as well. There will also be side objectives for players to complete that will give their team an edge in the overall battle.
With all the different things to do on the battlefield, teams will have to be well coordinated by their leading guilds. The competition will be tough, with all of the best players from around the world joining in.

How to join the new game mode
If you are a guild leader and want to become one of the Leading Guilds, then you'll have to pay 10 billion silver to apply. When the leading guilds are chosen, they will each have to pick a captain. If you are not in one of these guilds, then you can still apply to the Black Desert War of Roses game mode and will be placed on a team.
The most important stipulation is that you have a combined AP and DP score of 700 or more, otherwise you cannot apply.
