Dera is among the five new weapons to have received an Incarnon Genesis evolution in Warframe's latest Koumei and the Five Fates update. It is a workhorse weapon, part of the Corpus foundry, and a standard one for every Corpus Crewman in the origin system. Dera is also among the few weapons to be a part of the Vandal series, the fourth Corpus weapon to be inducted.
This guide will highlight all aspects of Dera's Incarnon Genesis evolution, its special features, and an end-game viable build for general use.
How does Dera's Incarnon Genesis evolution work in Warframe?
Both Dera and Dera Vandal have high Puncture components in their overall damage profile, a below-average base critical chance, and a respectable status chance. While neither gun has ever really added much to change the endgame meta, the Incarnon Genesis evolution takes advantage of the lackluster features of both weapons and bolsters them.
Unlike the other Incarnon Genesis primary Sybaris, Dera's fire rate changes drastically, going from a rapid-fire platform to a high-damage laser with a slow rate of fire. Furthermore, the lasers have innate magnetic damage, punch-through, high critical chance, and critical damage, but they lose status chance as a trade-off.

All Dera Incarnon Genesis evolution talents in Warframe, detailed
Dera's Incarnon Genesis talents are as follows:
As per the talent stats and the design principle of the Incarnon Genesis evolution, we will be taking the following talents for this guide: Crimson Overture > Extended Volley > High Ground.
The third talent choice is very much a player preference but as the Incarnon Genesis projectiles have a travel time, the +50% projectile speed is a quality-of-life upgrade. Evolved Autoloader is also a fantastic qol-oriented talent you can opt for.
Which variant of Dera to invest in, for the Incarnon Genesis evolution?
As previously mentioned, Dera and Dera Vandal have similar base damage, with the former clocking in a 30 against the latter's 32. Both guns also have a low base critical chance of 8%, however, Dera Vandal possesses a much higher base critical damage multiplier of 2.00x than Dera's 1.60x.
Dera Vandal also has a much higher base status chance of 30% than Dera's 22%, which makes it incredibly useful for High Ground. Interestingly, both weapons have a very high Riven stat disposition, making any Riven mods you have a must-use. In short, go for Dera Vandal to make your investment future-proof, but you'll need to farm Invasions a lot.
4-Forma build for Dera Incarnon in Warframe
Here is a Dera Vandal Incarnon build that will work in almost every content, with areas to improve based on personal investment. Dera Vandal has no native polarities, so players need to hit it with a couple of Formas. The easiest polarities to slot in are three Madurai (V-shaped), with either a Vazarin (D-shaped) or a Naramon (horizontal bar-shaped) as a flex option.
Mods used:
- Galvanized Chamber
- Primed Bane of Orokin
- Galvanized Scope
- Galvanized Aptitude
- Rime Rounds
- Malignant Force
- Hammer Shot
- Critical Delay
The build is aimed at high critical hits with easy access to multishot. This will proc Incarnon evolution and take advantage of the high-status chance to benefit from the mods. Primed Bane of Orokin is a placeholder for any faction on the mission, and can be swapped out for the non-primed version. Serration is also a good fallback option if no faction mods are available.
Rime Rounds and Malignant Force are the default choices for Corrosive. These can be changed to fit any faction but against Corpus, Infected Clip can be a good substitute as the Incarnon form has innate magnetic damage. Hammer Shot can also be swapped out for the new Rifle Elementalist mod if external sources of status chance boost are present like Citrine's Prismatic Gem skill.
As for the Arcane slot, there is no better option than Primary Deadhead, as it directly buffs primary weapon damage with a secondary headshot damage boost further aiding the build.
