Warframe's Corrupted mods are indispensable tools to complete your builds and get across the end-game power ramp. These mods provide significant stat boosts for your Warframes and weapons, but always at the cost of a negative stat to balance it out. There are 24 Corrupted mods in the game, split across all classes of primary weapons, secondaries, melee, and frames.
Corrupted mods can be extracted from vaults hidden in Orokin Derelicts, a tileset currently available in Deimos. You must manually locate the vault by searching through this labyrinthine tileset. Once you find them, they can only be cracked open with one of four Corrupted Dragon Keys.
Best mission for farming Corrupted mods in Warframe
Warframe's Corrupted mod vaults are not marked on the minimap, nor do they appear as a side-objective. You must farm them on top of completing your main objective, so you can securely extract with them afterwards.
For farming efficiency, the best mission type is Capture. This makes the Horend node on Deimos the best place to farm Corrupted mods in Warframe.
- Make sure your squad has all four Dragon Keys collectively before you start the mission.
- This mission is also a good way to collect Kavat Genetics Codes, since wild Kavats only spawn on the Orokin Derelict tileset.
How to locate Orokin vaults in Warframe
Once you load into the mission, make sure to take care of the objective first. In an organized squad, players can split their duty between completing the mission objective and actively looking for the Orokin Vault.
Orokin Vaults have distinct semi-circular doors, as shown in the image above. These can be within any room in the tileset, but they only spawn in places that ordinarily have a small rectangular doorway.
The best way to look for them is to comb the map tile-by-tile by checking its corners for locations where these doors can fit. Once you find it, do not forget to mark it (the default key bind for Windows is 'G') for your fellow Tenno, as well as the carrier of the correct key.
Using Orokin Eye to locate Orokin Vaults
The Orokin Eye air support ability can locate and mark the Orokin Vault door for you. However, its range does not cover the entire mission. If all members of a full squad have Orokin Eye equipped, they can individually activate the ability at specific points to cover almost the entire tileset.
- The first Orokin Eye usage should be one or two rooms ahead of the spawn point.
- The second Orokin Eye usage should be roughly 250 meters from the first spot.
- The third Orokin Eye charge should be used 250 meters away from the second spot towards extraction, and so on.
Warframe Corrupted mod solo farming strategy and build
If you are farming Corrupted mods solo, you will have to bear all four Dragon keys to crack the vault door 100% of the time. This will cause you to have a 75% debuff for your health, shields, and damage output, as well as running and sprinting speed.
Using a Titania with Thermal Sunder as a Helminth ability can help you circumnavigate these problems. Her ability to fly overrides the speed debuff while making you fast and evasive enough to avoid most sources of enemy damage.
If the Capture objective turns into an enemy extermination, you can spam Thermal Sunder to dispatch the targets. Since this is not the most durable build, you should not use it in Steel Path mode.
Warframe Corrupted mod drop chance and price
All 24 Corrupted mods have an equal chance to drop in an Orokin Vault (approximately 4.2%). There is no pseudo-random distribution at play here, so you are likely to pile up many duplicates in your Corrupted mod hunt.
Thankfully, you can also buy them from other players via p2p trading. Going prices for these mods vary between 8 and 15 Platinum.
