A new Nightwave volume is going live on an upcoming Warframe update this May. Digital Extremes revealed the release date of this 'Interim update' and more yesterday on Devstream #179, showcasing some of the upcoming new toys you can play with. While it is no Jade Shadows, this update has some exciting things in store for old Tenno and new. Likely the most exciting of them all is Kuva Sobek. This auto-shotgun is finally going to get its long-requested Kuva variant, and we can't wait to try it out.
In this article, we will go over everything revealed so far about the 'Interim' Warframe update coming this May.
When is Warframe's upcoming 'Interim' update going to release?
The release date for this upcoming Warframe update is May 15 (Wednesday). The same was confirmed on Devstream #179, along with the potential release time of the update: 2 pm ET.
The new Nightwave (Nora's Mix volume 6) will debut at this time, while the ongoing season of Nightwave in Warframe will conclude at 11 am ET on May 15. This will make your outstanding Nightwave creds obsolete, so you are advised to spend them in the cred shop before this deadline.
Everything coming with Warframe's Interim update this May
Here are all the things coming with Warframe's Interim May update thus far:
- Nightwave Nora's Mix Volume 6
- Kuva Sobek
- Tenet Glaxion
- A new theme of weapon cosmetics called 'Daybreak Skin': Currently, we know of the Cedo Daybreak Skin, Nukor Daybreak Skin, and Glaive Daybreak Skin.
- New TennoGen cosmetics: Mag Celestis Skin, Baruuk Peacemaker Skin, Revenant Wight Skin, and Minos Nikana Skin
Stats for the Kuva Sobek and Tenet Glaxion are yet to be revealed, but there is a good chance Kuva Sobek will take over the meta for crowd-clearing, especially on frames like Saryn.
The Tenet Glaxion, meanwhile, is the third Glaxion variant after the Glaxion Vandal. It is an interesting choice as a foretelling of things to come. While the Glaxion Vandal could cosmetically freeze enemies upon death, the freezing-ray fantasy will now be a functional reality with the status effect rework in the Jade Shadows update.
That being said, Warframe: Jade Shadows is not coming until June. Devstream #180 will be detailing more about its titular frame, as well as the reworks of status effects and enemy health resistances.
