With the right Wisp build guide, you can become the most important Warframe in your squad. Wisp has been among the top-used Warframes for three years in a row for good reason. Her kit provides everything you could want in the Steel Path or other endgame activities: squad-wide sustainability, long-range crowd control, and chaining damage.
To top it off, Wisp also boasts a simple fire-and-forget playstyle. This Wisp guide will go over how to bolster this straightforward but effective skillset, providing a beginner-friendly build, and an end-game setup.
The mod setups in this Wisp build guide use the Warframe's Primed variant. Prime is always better - but you will get near-identical results out of regular Wisp, which only has one less polarized mod slot and marginally less Amor.

Budget Wisp build for Warframe beginners (Formaless)
This minimalist but functional mod setup will make your Wisp perform well in almost all of Warframe's daily content, including Sorties. The health regeneration allows you to reliably health tank up to lvl 300s (non-Steel Path), while Hunter Adrenaline will take care of Energy needs.
Mods used:
- Corrosive Projection (Aura Slot)
- (Empty Exilus Slot)
- Intensify
- Continuity
- Hunter Adrenaline
- Augur Secrets
- Flow
- Stretch
- Streamline
- Augur Message (Can be replaced with Adaptation for further durability)
Wisp is surprisingly easy to build, considering you have to take on a tough challenge like beating the Ropalolyst to get her parts.

Endgame Wisp Prime build (3-Forma)
For Wisp to be effective in end-game play past Steel Path, you want to actively use your Breach Surge. This requires a good amount of Ability Range. For better quality of life, we have positive Ability Duration - which makes Nourish upkeep easier.
Otherwise, the build is focused on Ability Strength, as this is what will make your Motes significantly stronger - which means a larger Health pool and faster fire rates.
Helminth ability used: Nourish is used on the fourth ability slot for this Wisp build. This makes room for a more lenient energy economy and adds some Viral damage. Here are some alternative Helminth ability options.
Mods used:
- Growing Power (Aura Slot)
- Fused Reservoir (Exilus Slot): Makes casting Reservoir much easier in the middle of ongoing gunfights
- Blind Rage
- Archon Intensify: Can be replaced with regular Intensify
- Transient Fortitude
- Adaptation
- Archon Strech: You can get some energy when the shock motes deal damage to enemies
- Primed Continuity
- Augur Secrets
- Augur Reach
Adaptation will help with this Wisp build to an extent, but it will not suffice for endurance runs. If you are planning to go level cap, you will need:
- Brief Respite in the Aura slot (different Polarity) to abuse shield-gate
- Rolling Guard instead of Adaptation to give you another reliable layer of protection
