The Rust November update is right around the corner, and players have a few interesting additions coming their way. With the successful launch of the World Update 2.0 in October 2024, fans of the game are expecting a lot from Facepunch Studios as they prepare for the upcoming monthly force-wipe and patch update.

This article explores all the changes and additions that players can expect with the debut of the Rust November update.

Note: Much of this article is based on speculation, so readers are advised to take the information discussed with a pinch of salt.

All expected changes coming in Rust November update

According to popular content creators SHADOWFRAX and cipeaX, the upcoming Rust November update will make some promising additions to the game.

New items and a deployable have been discovered in Rust's Staging Branch. While they do have a high probability of coming into the game, this is still subject to change and can only be confirmed when the official patch releases.

Let us explore some of these new items and features expected to come to the title with the latest update.

Disabling cameras

While exploring Rust's Staging Branch, cipeaX discovered that players might be able to disable cameras in the game once the November update arrives.

CCTV cameras in Rust provide players with valuable intel when contesting a Monument. They provide live feed of all the points of interest in the game.

According to cipeaX's discovery, players might be able to disable cameras for five minutes by shooting at them. When shot, the visuals will get distorted, but you will still have clear-cut audio cues.

The cameras will come back online after a five-minute cooldown.

Siege weapons

According to both SHADOWFRAX and cipeaX, siege weapons for Rust are in the works. They are still under development and could be a potential addition for the upcoming force wipe.

According to the leakers, these items will be constructible entities, capable of being towed by horses. The models use low-grade fuel for functioning. As of now, there are three siege weapons reportedly under development: the Ballista, Catapult, and Battering Ram.

If released, these items would be perfect for waging online raids in the game, as it's clear that their main purpose is to break down the fortifications of a base.

Terrain update

The Rust World Update 2.0 reintroduced the god-rock, anvil rock, and other old rock formations. These additions featured new prefab textures and provided improved traction in the game. This allowed players to climb onto these rocks without needing any additional tools.

However, the existing rocks in Rust have not been patched with these textures. With the Rust November update, cipeaX believes all the pre-existing rock and other terrain features in the game will get updated with the latest texture and prefab pack. This will improve player's mobility throughout the map, greatly improving the general quality of life in the title.

Weapon flashlight overhaul

Weapon flashlights in Rust have always been blinding. According to the Staging Branch discoveries made by cipeaX, these items will get reworked and offer a better visual experience to both the player using it and the one it is being pointed at.

The reworked weapon flashlight will apparently feature a much softer glow and a mild haze effect in the Staging Branch. It will be dimmer and will no longer blind players like it used to.

We believe this is a great quality-of-life change coming with the Rust November update.
