Ecive is a basic tool that any character can use in The First Descendant. In essence, this is the game's detective mode, which offers various goals in various contexts. It can be temporarily activated at the press of a button anywhere other than Albion, and there is no 'cooldown' on this thing. However, new players will often be lost as to why exactly they need it.
In this beginner guide for The First Descendant, we will explain everything about the Ecive tool and every situation where you might need it.
What does an Ecive scan do in The First Descendant?
When you perform an Ecive scan in The First Descendant, it reveals all enemy, resource box, and Munition drum locations around you within a limited range. It also displays their weakness in element (Toxin, Fire, Chill, Electric) and physical (Crush, Pierce, Burst) damage types.
Furthermore, when you use the Ecive during a Void Intercept boss, it will display the boss' Frenzy meter underneath the Health bar and highlight their weak points.
A more unique use for the Ecive is to locate Encrypted Vaults in Normal and Hard mode. The Ecive will make a sharp ping when you're facing its direction, and a more blunt noise if you're facing away from it. The noise gets louder the closer you get to the desired Encrypted Vault.
