What can we expect from Rust October update?

Server wipe

The Rust October update, first and foremost, will start a brand-new journey for players. After the servers are wiped, players will no longer have access to the blueprints or the bases they grinded for and constructed in any of the servers.

The data in each server will be wiped clean, and each player will have to restart their progress and climb up the ladder to be the top dog in their desired server.

World Update 2.0

The Rust force wipe for October 2024 also promises massive changes to the procedural map generation system in the game. Numerous new map structures and biomes will be introduced with the world update. Players can expect the implementation of new rock structures, oases, rivers, lakes, and even canyons in the game.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that all these procedurally generated areas on the map are build-friendly. This means players can, with careful planning, construct overpowered bases of their choice in these map formations in the game.

New Weapon

According to the official Staging Branch showcase, players can expect the development of unique Anvil and God rocks, which are perfect areas to build the strongest clan or small group bases on.

Last but not least, a High Caliber Revolver is in development and has been confirmed for release along with the upcoming Rust server wipe for October 2024. This weapon will be part of the Level 2 Workbench arsenal and will replace the overpowered Python Revolver. It features similar stats to the latter but has a slower fire rate to balance its strong damage-dealing ability.
