Magisters Anais in The First Descendant is an NPC who oversees the Research Institute in Albion. How to find Magisters Anais in The First Descendant
Magisters Anais is located in the Research Institute in Albion. At the beginning of your journey, you will be guided through a tutorial section after an introductory cutscene. This tutorial covers the events leading up to the start of the game. Once you complete it, you will be teleported to the multiplayer hub of Albion at the City Entrance.
The Research Institute is located in the western part of Albion. You'll find Magisters Anais near the bottom of this area. You can hover over her symbol and set it as a Way Point from the map. This will make it show up as a blinking reticle on your screen. Follow this direction to reach her in The First Descendant.

How to request research from Magisters Anais in The First Descendant
Interacting with Magisters Anais in The First Descendant will open the Research Request menu. Here, you can research Descendants, weapons, materials to upgrade them, and enhancement materials to fine-tune your build and stats. This is how you unlock different characters and their perks, craft new weapons, and modify your stats.
Unlocking new Descendants requires specific Research Materials, Gold, and a certain amount of time to complete the research. On the other hand, weapons and materials require an additional Mastery Rank before you can craft them.
The materials required for research are obtained from various monsters, battles, quests, and missions, with some items only available in Hard difficulty. You don't have to spend time figuring out how to get these materials, as hovering over them and checking their acquisition info will provide all the details and locations necessary for you to farm them.
You can acquire Gold by killing enemies and participating in various activities in The First Descendant. Special Operations are especially lucrative in terms of the amount of Gold you receive as rewards.
Additionally, you can use the items rewarded from the premium pre-season battle pass in The First Descendant that increases the amount of Gold acquired by 30 percent for a day.
