The First Descendant’s Absolute Curse module might be incredibly rare, but it’s worth taking the time to unlock. It’s a must-have for players who enjoy farming and fighting the various Colossus bosses. As an Almandine Socket module, any Descendant can equip it. Whenever you remove a part from a Colossus, Absolute Curse inflicts Dispel, which removes any useful buffs that the boss had.
While quite a few locations can drop the Absolute Curse module, it doesn’t have more than a 5% drop rate. That means you could be farming it for a significant amount of time. While none of the below locations are guaranteed, they all have a chance to drop Absolute Curse.
Where to unlock the Absolute Curse module in The First Descendant?
To farm the Absolute Curse mod in The First Descendant, the best option is to grind The Ruins Guard Facility on Hard Mode. This grind spot is found in Hagios and is short, and easy to complete. The real major downside to this module is that it doesn’t have more than a 4-5% drop rate in most locations, so it can be quite frustrating to try and farm. If you’re going to be fighting Colossi like the Executioner, you will want this on your side, to dispel its defensive buffs.
You can also find the Absolute Curse mod as a reward for Infiltration Operation The Shelter in Vespers, but it takes much longer to complete. Your odds of a drop are 2% on Normal and 5% on Hard. When it comes down to the average completion time, you’re better off grinding Hagios instead of Vespers. You can also immediately retry the Hagios mission, making it the best option.
Conversely, this module can drop off monsters everywhere in the Vespers and Hagios regions. If you’re already farming these areas for something, such as the Action and Reaction Shotgun, there’s a chance Absolute Curse could drop in The First Descendant. Overall, your best bet is to grind the Ruins Guard Facility on Hard, as that is the fastest place you can grind for this particular module.
Regardless of the time it takes to farm, it's an incredibly useful Module for bossing since it can dispel powerful buffs off of the various bosses the game will throw at you.
