Tier 2 armor tokens grant WoW Classic SoD Phase 5 players some truly remarkable armor. Not only is it one of the most popular and nostalgic sets of gear the game has to offer, but it also has better stats to coincide with the Season of Discovery servers. However, the traditional methods of unlocking this armor have changed a bit, with the launch of SoD Phase 5.
Now that Phase 5 has begun, players can head to raids like Blackwing Lair in search of tier 2 armor tokens for their favorite characters. The original tokens were scattered across Blackwing Lair, Molten Core, and Onyxia, but things have changed! Here’s where you need to go.
New bosses drop tier 2 armor tokens in WoW Classic SoD Phase 5
Instead of looting the armor normally, WoW Classic SoD Phase 5 has tier 2 armor tokens that players can loot from specific raid bosses. As with all classic armor tokens, each drop focuses on three classes. That way, it’s easy to spot which tokens you’re seeking from particular bosses or vendors:
- Primeval: Druid, Rogue, Warrior
- Draconian: Mage, Priest, Warlock
- Ancient: Hunter, Paladin, Shaman
The locations of these Tier 2 armor tokens have changed slightly in Phase 5. Some require farming currency, while others drop from bosses. If you want to know what raids and content you need to be farming for them to drop, we’ve got you covered;
- Bracers: Tarnished Undermine Real x125
- Belt: Prince Thunderaan
- Boots: Broodlord Lashlayer
- Chest: Nefarian
- Gloves: Razor the Untamed
- Helm: Ebonroc and Flamegor
- Legs: Firemaw, Vealastrasz the Corrupt
- Shoulders: Chromaggus
It’s worth noting that the tier 2 armor tokens can drop from multiple bosses, but the others have remarkably low drop rates (~2-4%). The known bosses that can drop multiple pieces are Vaelastrasz the Corrupt, Nefarian, and Ebonroc.
While more may be found at a later date, the bosses listed above have the best drop rates, typically around 50%. It’s also been confirmed that the Chromatic Hoard chest that spawns after defeating Nefarian on Hard Mode can contain a variety of tokens.
Blackwing Lair was already worth grinding to unlock the new class-specific Epic weapons, but players can also unlock some truly powerful armor this way. It’s worth it for anyone who is at level cap and wants to test themselves in tacking these raids.
