One day into WoW Classic SoD Molten Core’s release, a guild found the new hidden boss. EU guild “none of the above” challenged the classic raid on Heat 3, the highest difficulty you can challenge the 20-person raid on. As it turns out, after they defeated Ragnaros, the Firelord at the end, a brand-new boss appeared - though it is optional, the guild continued and bested it after two attempts.
The new hidden boss of Molten Core in WoW Classic SoD is The Molten Core itself! This new boss was a literal orb of molten fire, hovering in the air. Without lots of Fire Resistance options, this fight could be incredibly difficult, no matter how experienced your group is.
The new hidden boss in WoW Classic SoD Molten Core is The Molten Core
If you play through WoW Classic SoD’s Molten Core on Heat 3 difficulty, you can challenge the hidden boss: The Molten Core. It will appear in the space after Ragnaros is defeated.
The Hydraxian Waterlords will appear and begin to pour streams of water down into the lava where the Firelord was waiting. Before too long, a rocky orb will float out of the lava and the rocky shell will break, revealing the hidden boss: The Molten Core itself! The Waterlords (Hydraxian Firefighters) will continue to spray water while the boss fight begins.
This boss has an incredibly massive health pool of four million. This new boss also has a resource meter that slowly fills as it bombards raid groups with a wealth of powerful fire attacks. As if fighting the boss wasn’t hard enough, Primal Fire Elementals will continually spawn and try to defeat the Water Elementals. Players must balance fighting the boss, alongside the adds.
Defeating the new WoW Classic SoD hidden boss will drop a pile of loot from across this raid. It is currently not known if it has new loot, but is primarily focused on giving players loot from the entire raid. This keeps the boss an optional fight and not something that players must do every week when the raid resets.
It is, however, recommended to do the Molten Core attunement, to get to the raid faster. Despite the World First victory being claimed in two attempts, don't underestimate this boss. It will come down to teamwork and high Fire Resistance levels.
