Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest will be easier to farm on WoW Cataclysm Classic’s servers, at least, on the PTR. These numbers could change, as it’s just on the test servers, but the notion is a very exciting one. Farming legendaries like Dragonwrath is always going to take several weeks, but not to multiple months. While it’s still going to be a long grind, each individual farming quest will take less time overall.

This was announced by Kaivax on the Rage of the Firelands PTR forums. Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest, for those who do not remember, is a powerful legendary staff in WoW that will also be available on the Cataclysm Classic servers. If this change makes it to the live server, this legendary will be much less annoying to get.

Three of the quests to unlock Dragonwrath on the WoW Cataclysm Classic servers are going to be made much easier to complete on the PTR. It’s a positive change because these quests were incredibly time-consuming and frustrating on the live servers during Cataclysm. The quests in question are All-Seeing Eye, Time Grows Short and Heart of Flame.

According to Community Manager Kaivax, players will be able to complete the gathering quests for Dragonwrath easily, depending on which difficulty they’re playing on/what raid size they’re running Firelands in. For 25-person Normal and Heroic Firelands, players will be able to complete the gathering quests in 4.5 to 6 weeks, with each quest taking no more than 1.5 to 2 weeks.

On 10-person Normal and Heroic, players will be able to gather all the materials they need in no longer than 9 to 12 weeks, with each individual quest taking about 3 to 4 weeks in total. These quests require players to head into the Firelands raid, farming specific items, which are done on a weekly basis.

There were other changes made to the overall unlock of Dragonwrath in WoW Cataclysm Classic as well. Players who have used the Charged Focus items in the past will be able to open the Circle of Thorns portal again for raid groups, even after they’ve completed the quest Delegation and unlocked the Branch of Nordrassil, which is just a really nice change.

In addition, the farming of the Charged Focii you need for this is also made easier. This step of unlocking Dragonwrath in WoW Cataclysm Classic will require farming fragments from certain bosses, but now they’ll drop more of them at a time:

  • Emberstone Fragments now drop three at a time from Crystal Prison Traps during the Shannox encounter.
  • Rhyolite Fragments now drop three at a time during the Lord Ryolith encounter.
  • Pyreshell Fragments now drop three at a time from the Voracious Hatchling eggs during the Alysrazor encounter.

Overall, this should make unlocking the Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest much easier when the Firelands raid opens up on November 7, 2024. It’s a huge change and should make the grind far less frustrating.
