WoW Cataclysm Classic Phase 2 release date: New Heroic Dungeons and mounts await 

Blizzard Entertainment announced WoW Cataclysm Classic Phase 2, and some very interesting changes to come alongside it. Launching on July 30, 2024, players will have some familiar, Troll-filled raids, to tackle in a brand-new way. While the full details of the Phase 2 update have yet to be revealed, players won’t have to wait too long to challenge the powerful Troll hordes on the Classic-era servers.

Phase 1 of WoW Cataclysm Classic introduced a trio of familiar raids, and Phase 2 will bring something similar. Cataclysm’s original launch added both of these reworked Troll-themed raids to life, in a way that players have not experienced before.

Zul’Gurub and Zul’Aman await WoW Cataclysm Classic players in Phase 2

In Phase 2 of WoW Cataclysm Classic, both Zul’Gurub and Zul’Aman will be level 85 Heroic dungeons that players can tackle. Arguably one of the most interesting 10-person raids in WoW history, Zul’Aman was introduced in The Burning Crusade expansion, and it was the only way to unlock the Amani War Bear mount.

Unfortunately, that won’t be available on the Classic-era servers. Brought back to life with fresh mechanics and plenty of challenges, Zul’Aman offered players the following bosses to battle:

• Akil’zon
• Nalorakk
• Jan’alai
• Halazzi
• Hex Lord Malacrass
• Daakara

Zul’Gurub was one of the early raids of World of Warcraft’s vanilla experience, and it returns in WoW Cataclysm Classic as one of the Phase 2 raids. These Heroic Dungeons won’t function the way players remember the original raids, either. The following bosses are available to fight in the new Heroic:

Required bosses

• High Priest Venoxis
• Broodlord Mandokir
• High Priestess Kilnara
• Zanzil
• Jin’do the Godbreaker

Optional summoned bosses

• Gri’lek
• Renataki
• Hazza’rah
• Wushoolay

One of the optional bosses can be summoned by a player with high enough Archaeology, which was added in the WoW Cataclysm Classic expansion. In addition, once you defeat the primary bosses, you will unlock a treasure map. You can take that and unlock a powerful Account-bound ring - the gem is even visible when you’re wearing it.

There are rare mounts players can unlock, as well - not the originals, but the ones offered in the Heroics of WoW Cataclysm Classic. Swift Zulian Panther and Armored Razzashi Raptor are in Zul’Gurub, and the Amani Battle Bear unlocks if you defeat the first four bosses of Zul’Aman before the timer runs out.

If you want to tackle this WoW Cataclysm Classic Phase 2 content, you need an item level of 346. They will be on their own Heroic difficulty tier, as well. The rewards are greater as well - 353-epic drops await, for almost every equipment slot. The focus is on harder-to-find slots, though, namely, Bracers, Helmets, Shoulders, Gun, and Wands.
