Hunters in WoW can now tame certain bosses as of The War Within pre-patch. It’s not every boss, just certain ones from the Battle for Azeroth expansion. With this update came several new models of monsters that could be tamed, and this includes model types like Epic Gorillas, Undead Gorillas, Chimeric Hydras, and Skeletal Devilsaurs. However, some Hunters will have an easier time with these than others.

If you have a level-capped Hunter and want to tame some awesome, exotic bosses in WoW, now’s your chance. We’ll go over the new options below, so you can go hunt them down for yourself. If you don’t have a Hunter that’s a decent level, Radiant Echoes can help.

In WoW, Hunters can now tame some exotic, fantastic pets for their collection - specifically bosses. Doing this at level cap (level 70 ahead of the expansion) will probably be a good idea to make sure you take as little damage as possible during the taming process.

The following bosses can be added to your collection:

  • Grong (Epic Gorilla): Horde Only: Second boss of Battle of Dazar’alor Raid.
  • Grong the Revenant (Undead Gorilla): Alliance Only: Third boss of Battle of Dazar’alor Raid.
  • Fetid Devourer (Chimeric Hydra): Third boss of Uldir Raid.
  • Rezan (Skeletal Devilsaur): Boss in Atal’Dazar Dungeon.
  • T’zala (Armored Ravasaur): Summoned by the final boss in Kings’ Rest dungeon around 40-60% health.

However, there are some caveats to be aware of before you go diving into dungeons and raids to try and pick up these monsters. One isn’t as big a deal - Rezan technically counts as an Exotic Pet, so you need to be a Beast Master spec of level 10 or higher to tackle it. Considering it’s likely a level 51 Elite, you won’t be soloing that at level 10 anytime soon.

Another point of contention for Rezan and Grong the Revenant is that they’re Skeletal/Undead mobs. If you’re an Undead Hunter, you don’t need to do anything else - you, by default, know how to tame undead creatures. However, other races will need to find the Simple Tome of Bone-Binding.

It’s a bind-on-pickup book that drops from Elite NPCs in Maldraxxus, and the two dungeons: Plaguefall and Theater of Pain. Other than that, all you need to do is have access to these raids and dungeons, and you can enter and attempt to tame these amazing boss monsters in WoW.
