WoW Classic SoD Phase 6 will be starting soon, and Blizzard revealed the raids and events that will be coming along with it. One of the biggest events in Vanilla World of Warcraft was the opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj. It was a massive, server-wide effort on the Horde and Alliance factions, where they gathered war supplies to battle with the Ahn’Qiraji forces.
Players will be able to relive this on the WoW Classic SoD Phase 6 servers as they push back the Anubisath and Qiraji warriors. Furthermore, players can also craft the Scepter of the Shifting Sands and bang the gong! If you’ve ever wanted the Black Qiraji Battle Tank, now’s your chance.
WoW Classic SoD Phase 6 starts in November and brings back classic Ahn’Qiraj
WoW Classic SoD Phase 6 kicks off on November 12, 2024, with a series of timed events. Technically, the Phase 6 content begins on November 21, 2024, but you can start early by completing the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain. This will let you ring the gong when it’s time. Below is a list of the events you can expect.
- November 12: Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest unlocks.
- November 21: Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins at 1 pm PST globally.
- November 29: The War Effort Ends.
- December 4: The war heralding the arrival of Anubisath and Qiraji Warriors begins.
- December 6: Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove all open.
On November 21, the War Effort begins, and both factions in WoW Classic SoD Phase 6 will begin farming supplies. You’ll bring specific supplies to the Valley of Spirits (Orgrimmar) and the Military Ward (Ironforge) for the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort.
You will, in turn, receive Commendation Signets to build a reputation with your faction. The supplies you need will likely not be a challenge to get— Blizzard confirms many of them will be available as loot drops and in the Auction House. In addition, having certain professions will help. It’s unknown if these items are different from the original event at this time.
If you complete the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest between December 4 at 1 pm PST and December 6 at 1 pm PST, you will receive the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal. Using this will grant you the ultra-cool, incredibly rare mount.
In addition, players will be able to head to the Barrens and Thousand Needles (lower-level players) and Silithus, Tanaris and Feralas (higher-level players) to defend against enemy incursions.
You can gain gold, experience, and most importantly, reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu faction. These events also have a higher chance of having rare drops. It’s always an event worth taking the time for in WoW Classic SoD Phase 6. Then, on December 4, 2024, a 48-hour war begins.
Once it ends, the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj raid (10+ raid) and Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (20+ player raid) will open. Players will also have access to an instance where they can fight the Dragons of Nightmare.
The Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj is a 10+ person raid and resets twice a week. Available in Silithus, it’s for level 60 players and has six bosses. The harder raid is Temple of AHn’Qiraj, which features nine bosses and is for 20+ players.
However, this one resets weekly, as raids normally do. At this time, we don’t know if there will be any further Runes in WoW Classic SoD Phase 6—but if we uncover something, we’ll update you accordingly.
