WoW The War Within pre-patch Event Radiant Echoes start date, rewards, and more

WoW The War Within is coming soon, and the Radiant Echoes event will be the pre-patch adventure players can go on ahead of this expansion. It will last for several weeks, and allow players to farm up a currency known as Residual Memories to unlock cosmetics, mounts, and much more. There were fears that it would require gamers to complete the entire Dragonflight campaign, but that’s not going to be the case.

The Radiant Echoes event was added in the WoW The War Within Pre-Patch update, though it won’t kick off until July 30, 2024. If you want to know how long this limited-time event will be around, and what you can unlock, look no further.

How long will the WoW The War Within pre-patch event Radiant Echoes be available?

From July 30 until August 26, 2024, WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes Event will take place. This event’s hub will be in Dalaran, and most players should have a hearthstone that takes them directly to the Legion Dalaran city. The event itself will take place across several older zones: Dragonblight, Dustwallow Marsh, and the Searing Gorge. It doesn’t matter if you have the expansion, either - Whether you have the Collector’s Edition or have yet to pre-order, you can join this event.

How does the WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes pre-patch event take place?

The WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes event is for players levels 10-70. If you’re at level 70, you’ll receive a quest that explains what’s going on and invites you to Dalaran to take part. Players who are under level 70 will be directed immediately to Dalaran instead. The event has four stages and cycles, between the aforementioned zones (Dragonblight, Dustwallow Marsh, Searing Gorge).

You can take portals in Dalaran that will transport you right to the staging area for the event, and there’s also a portal to take you back when you’re finished; no slowly flying to Dustwallow every time it’s part of the event. You can tell which portal to take, as it will have a golden glow to it. The events will cycle on the following schedule:

• Week 1: Zones cycle every 90 minutes
• Week 2: Zones cycle every 60 minutes.
• Weeks 3 and 4: Zones cycle every 30 minutes.

This WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes event takes place in stages. Stage One requires you to defeat Congealed Memories that spawn in the zone, and the memories around it. In Stage Two, there will be radiant echoes in the zone causing problems - six random events that will be active in the zone. You can see them on the map, marked with a globe. Stage Three will feature a quest that requires you to defeat a specific event boss:

• Only Darkness: Remembered Lich King Slain (Dragonblight)
• Broken Masquerade: Remembered Onyxia Slain (Dustwallow Marsh)
• Champion of the Waterlords: Remembered Firelord Slain (Searing Gorge)

After the boss is beaten, Stage Four takes place. This is just a way to continue to grind for Residual Memories until the timer runs out, and the next event takes place elsewhere. Players can visit the vendors below to spend their Residual Memories:

• Dalaran: Remembrancer Amuul (Chamber of the Guardian)
• Dragonblight: Echo of the Silver Hand (Wyrmrest Temple)
• Dustwallow Marsh: Forgotten Hero (Tabetha’s Farm)
• Searing Gorge: Memory of a Duke (Iron Summit)

In addition, players can unlock an heirloom ring, Band of Radiant Echoes by purchasing the Lifeless Stone Ring and collecting memories in these zones. It’s not confirmed how this will work yet, but players will need Essence of the Eastern Kingdoms, Essence of Kalimdor, and Essence of Northrend.

You can pick up a nice assortment of equipment and mounts from the WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes event. Equipment starts at item level 480, so it’s going to be great to get players caught up, and ready for The War Within when the release date arrives.

How to prepare for the WoW The War Within Radiant Echoes pre-patch event?

It’s easy enough to prepare for the WoW The War Within Radiant echoes event. You need to be level 70 and complete the Harbinger Questline. It won’t take more than 20-30 minutes and requires almost no challenging combat. It appears that this will be a global unlock since the event is available to players who are levels 10-70. It will likely be a good way to gain exp, and also the gear for level 70s will be item level 480 at minimum.
