WoW The War Within is launching soon, and Blizzard has revealed the Season 1 Raid Schedule. While there’s still much that is unknown about Nerub-ar Palace - such as boss strategies and potential loot, we do know when things kick off. It’s going to take a while for the raiding to begin though, giving players plenty of time to figure out what class/build they want to focus on, as the newest expansion begins.
While the next expansion won’t begin until August 26, 2024, the WoW The War Within Season 1 Raid schedule doesn’t begin until September 10, 2024. If you’re as excited as we are about getting back to raiding new content, here’s what you need to know.
What is the season 1 Raid Schedule for WoW The War Within?
On September 10, 2024, the WoW The War Within Season 1 Raid schedule kicks off the Normal and Heroic raid difficulty tiers. In addition, players will also be able to start the Raid Finder Wing 1, Mythic 0 Dungeons, Heroic Seasonal dungeons, and even the first World Boss. PVP Season 1 also begins on this The War Within S1 raid date.
Nerub-ar Palace is the first confirmed raid, and it will be broken into three sections for the Raid Finder difficulty. While the wings have not been confirmed, it is likely that wing one will be the first three bosses (Ulgrax the Devourer, The Bloodbound Horror, Sikran).
The next important date for WoW The War Within’s Season 1 raid schedule, is September 17, 2024. At this point, Mythic raids, Mythic+ dungeons, Raid Finder Wing 2, and Raid Story Mode open. Raid Story Mode is a new feature for The War Within that scales back the complexity and number of fights in a raid to just the important narrative points.
In this mode, instead of fighting all eight bosses, players will just have to fight the final boss, Queen Ansurek. With just 1-5 players needed, and fewer difficult game mechanics, this is for people who want to experience the narrative part of the raid, to connect it with the rest of the story.
With Raid Finder Wing 2, it’s likely that the WoW The War Within raid schedule will feature the next three bosses of the dungeon (Rasha’nan, Bloodtwister Ovi’nax, Nexus-Princess Ky’veza). This is not confirmed but based on past experiences in the Raid Finder tier of World of Warcraft.
On September 24, 2024, the final portion of Raid Finder, Raid Finder Wing 3 opens. This will likely feature the final bosses of the raid (The Silken Court, Queen Ansurek). Players who just want to grind through Normal/Heroic won’t have to wait for long, though. As soon as the raid opens, they can start killing bosses and farming loot.
