WoW The War Within Season 2 Dungeon Testing Schedule unveiled

WoW The War Within Season 2 is in the works, and for a limited time, players can test the upcoming Mythic dungeon rotation. Additionally, some affix updates have been introduced — and players will have different affixes daily to test all of them easily. The first week began on January 7, 2025, and will end on January 14, 2025 — with each week focusing on a different set of dungeons.

While we don’t have an official launch date for WoW The War Within Season 2 or the 11.1 patch, we do have some ideas on what players can expect, including the dungeon rotation, unlockable mounts, and more. However, if you want to hop on the PTR and try the dungeons on Mythic difficulty, now’s the time.

What is the Dungeon Testing Schedule for WoW The War Within Season 2?

The Season 2 Dungeon Testing Schedule has already begun for WoW The War Within, giving players access to just one of the Mythic+ dungeons: Operation Floodgate. This will change as the weeks go on, and we get closer to the actual launch of Season 2. Here’s the current schedule:

Week 1: Operation: Floodgate
Week 2: The War Within Dungeons (Cinderbrew Meadery, Darkflame Cleft, Priory of the Sacred Flame, Rookery)
Week 3: Legacy dungeons (Operation Mechagon: Workshop, THE MOTHERLODE!!!, Theater of Pain)
Week 4: The War Within dungeons + Operation: Floodgate
Week 5: Legacy dungeons + Operation: Floodgate
Week 6+: All season 2 dungeons

The developers have also pointed out that the schedule could change if any technical difficulties arise. To take part easily, log onto the PTR Client via Battle.net, and head to Stormwind or Orgrimmar. In the hub of each city, you will find the Keystone Vendor and Dungeon Teleports NPCs to get you where you’re looking to go.

There were also some changes made to affixes for the WoW The War Within Season 2 dungeons, though these could also change if needed. You can find the current changes in the list below.

Unified creature buffs on all Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes with Xal’atath’s Gift, increasing damage done up to 50% and reducing damage taken up to 100% for 20 seconds on all nearby creatures in combat.
New affix: Xal’atath’s Bargain: Pulsar
While in combat, Xal’atath summons pulsars that orbit players and must be intercepted within a time limit.
This affix replaces Xal’atath’s Bargain: Oblivion
Xal’atath’s Guile
Redesigned. Now causes keystones above level 12 to increase the health and damage of enemies by 12% per level instead of 10% per level.
Xal’atath’s Bargain: Voidbound
Dark Prayer is no longer a channel and the Void Emissary no longer grants damage reduction to creatures while active.
Dark Prayer now has a 15-second cast time and grants all nearby creatures in combat Xal’atath’s Gift when it finishes casting.
The Potency of Xal’atath’s Gift granted by Dark Prayer is based on the remaining shield percentage of the Void Emissary.

For those not familiar, if you want to download the PTR for WoW The War Within Season 2 dungeon testing, open Battle.Net and select World of Warcraft. Select the drop-down menu, and install PTR (TWW 11.1.0), and before long you will be ready to go.

Thankfully, it only takes up about 18GB of space. You can also copy your main server characters over, to test as accurately as possible — or to practice. Unfortunately, we don’t know when 11.1 will begin, but according to the WoW 2025 roadmap, we might be able to see these Mythic dungeons and more around Spring 2025.
