WoW The War Within: Where to easily find the Tree Treasure

WoW The War Within features many amazing treasures, such as the Tree Treasure. This one is a bit more frustrating to locate than the regular treasures in this expansion due to the small size and hidden nature of the needed components. After you find the secret Waterfall cave, you will be tasked with finding six Pearlescent Shellcrabs, scattered across the Isle of Dorn map.

Since this is a secret, you must figure it out on your own, like finding the Sapphire Crab pet. However, we’ve found the coordinates to easily guide you, so you can unlock the Tree Treasure in WoW The War Within: Hanna’s Locket. Here’s how to get it, and what it does.

How to locate the Tree Treasure and Pearlescent Shellcrabs in WoW The War Within

The waterfall just north of the hub city of Dornogal in WoW The War Within begins the Tree Treasure puzzle. Head to the coordinates (/way #2248 48.66 31.15 Cave Entrance), and fly down into the cave. You’ll find Freysworn Letitia there. Speak to them, and you’ll be tasked with finding the six Pearlescent Shellcrabs.

Below, you’ll find the specific coordinates to track down these crabs. She’ll also give you an item: Crab Guiding Branch. When you’re close enough to these crabs in WoW The War Within, you’ll use the item, and the crabs will go back to the Tree Treasure location. However, they’re tiny and hard to spot. When you’re near the location on your map, use “/tar pearlescent shellcrab” to target them. Then, press F11 on your keyboard to mark them with a target icon.

That way, you can easily see them, and fly/run to where the animal is, use the item, and move on. Here are all the coordinates you need to utilize:

These coordinates use the TomTom addon, as it’s one of the most important addons you can use in WoW The War Within.

Crab #1 is one of the hardest to spot - it’s up in the tree on Storm’s Watch. To make it easier to spot, mark it when you’re close. Crab #2 is west of Dhar Oztan, and it’s near a tree at this location. It’s much easier to spot than the first one - again, make sure to mark it.

Crab #3 is also beneath a huge tree in Boskroot Basin, where one of the roots begins to dig into the ground. Crab #4, predictably, is next to a tree as well, in the Cinderbrew Meadery section. Crab #5 is sitting on a rock, near a tree in The Three Shields area. Finally, Crab #6 is next to a tree near Thunderhead Peak.

Once you’ve got all of these targeted and used the item on them, head back to the first area to complete the Tree Treasure puzzle in WoW The War Within. You can see all the locations on the map above, to make them easy to get to.

Doing this grants you Hanna’s Locket, which is a Toy for your collection. It has a ten-minute cooldown but summons an ethereal horse that gallops forward constantly. It can be used to get out of tight situations potentially, but it’s mostly just a really cool hologram of a horse to ride.
