When it comes to awesome pals, Xenogard stands out in Palworld’s Sakurajima update. A mighty dragon that can be incredibly hard to find, it combines an amazing aesthetic with an awesome moveset. Only a few pals still manage to edge it out in terms of combat, such as Jetragon and Frastallion, as this Dragon brings plenty to bear with him.
While searching for this pal, you might instead find another great new Space Pal, the powerful Xenovader. This one will be challenging to unlock, but it will undoubtedly be worth the effort. Here’s what you need to know about Xenogard in Palworld.
Where to find Xenogard in Palworld
The downside to finding Xenogard in Palworld is that it’s not guaranteed. It’s an Alpha encounter that only spawns from a Meteorite event. As long as it’s not on Sakurajima Island, you can find Xenogard - otherwise, it’s going to be Selyne. Just look for the above image when you’re in an area on the map.
The other downside is that you might have a chance to capture Xenovader, or instead, it could be a Supply Drop. Supply Drops and Meteorite events share the same icon, so you might have to visit several until you find this Pal. Make sure to bring Ice attacks, since he’s a Dragon, and either a Mining Pal or a Pickaxe, to gather the Meteorite drops.

Xenogard in Palworld: Work suitability
Xenogard doesn’t really bring a lot to your base camps in Palworld. He only has one work suitability trait, and it’s one that you’d rather have out in the field anyway, as opposed to back at your base:
- Mining: Level 3
Xenogard in Palworld: Item drops
It will be much easier to get Meteorite Fragments from these events, rather than seeking out Xenogard and killing him. However, he does drop High Quality Pal Oil, making the fight worthwhile. Only certain Pals drop this valuable resource, so it may be worth it to hunt the Meteorite events with a strong Ice Pal such as Frostallion to ensure Xenogard drops quickly.
- High Quality Pal Oil
- Meteorite Fragment

Honestly, I'm a really big fan of Xenogard. It's a Dragon type that also features an Ice-type ability. It makes sense in the game's context - if you're going to be at the top of the food chain, you need an attack your own kind are weak to. It makes defeating them much easier and worthwhile to bring to Meteorite Events, just in general - as well as being a useful Pal for PVP.
