The Goodyear 400 is one of the regular events in the NASCAR calendar and has been a part of the NASCAR Regular Season for the past years. The Goodyear 400 is held at the Darlington Raceway. It is a 293-lap event covering a total distance of 400 miles throughout its running. The Goodyear 400 was hosted for the first time during the 1952 season. It was removed from the schedule for five years until it returned. The race was again removed from the Cup Series from 2005 to 2019. The Goodyear 400 returned to the NASCAR Cup Series during the COVID-19 season and was hosted twice due to the protocols. It has been a regular race in the Cup Series since then. The Goodyear 400 race has been sponsored by Goodyear, which is the official tire partner of the NASCAR Cup Series.
The Darlington Raceway hosts the Goodyear 400 race in the NASCAR Cup Series. It is a 1.366-mile-long track classified as a Speedway by NASCAR officials. Darlington Raceway had to give the Goodyear 400 race due to the Ferko Lawsuit settlement. The Darlington Raceway is often known as the "Track too tough to tame". It also hosts one of the crown jewel races of NASCAR, the Southern 500 race.
