Team Penske driver Austin Cindric was voted the least by fans when asked about the probability of multiple drivers ending their winless streak.

Cindric debuted as a full-time driver for Penske in the 2022 season and astonishingly won the season-opening Daytona 500. However, that was also the last time he managed to emerge victorious.

Since then, his performance has seemingly taken a hit. He finished in the top three on just four occasions and has been out of the top 20 for most of the current season.

He has run 81 races since his first win but has struggled to break his winless streak. Fans voted in a Performance Racing Network poll regarding the driver they thought would end their winless streak. Brad Keselowski received the most votes (68%), and the rest went to Alex Bowman and Chase Briscoe. At the bottom was Austin Cindric with just 3% of the votes.

The fans who participated in the poll are seemingly not hopeful that the #2 Ford driver will win a race anytime soon. However, he was very close to winning the 2024 Daytona 500 when he crashed out in a dramatic wreck that interrupted the race.

Where does Austin Cindric currently stand in the Cup Series standings? Analyzing his 2024 season

In the current championship, Cindric stands in 19th place with 192 (47 stage) points. He has won two stages this season so far, with most of the competitors around him in the championship, and has also led 67 laps.

Out of the 10 races this season, Austin Cindric has finished out of the top 20 eight times, out of which he has finished twice out of the top 30. His best finish came in Atlanta with a fourth place, and then the next best was at COTA (18th place), where he had expected to perform much better. He told Motorsport.com prior to the race:

"The last two weeks have been wildly out of the control of what I feel like our race team is capable of in a few different ways, but as far as COTA stacks up for me, no matter how you cut it, it’s been a race track that I’ve been able to be competitive at and lead laps every time I’ve been there in a Cup car."

With seven different race winners in the season currently, it is questionable if Austin Cindric will be able to qualify for the Playoffs later in the season. However, he still has a couple of races in hand where he can try and perhaps end his winless streak.
