Bubba Wallace and Corey LaJoie are among the top five voted drivers by fans for the NASCAR All-Star race, along with Alex Bowman, Noah Gragson, and Carson Hocevar.
Votes from fans are still coming in as they will be able to elect a driver for the All-Star race scheduled for this Sunday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The fan votes are a way for one of the drivers to get selected in the race, given they don't have a guaranteed spot. As the votes still count, Bubba Wallace has made it into the top 5, as NASCAR revealed. Fans are eligible to vote till 5:30 PM E.T, on the 19th of May. The driver who gains the maximum votes will qualify for the NASCAR All-Star race.
Fans can vote for their favorite driver through NASCAR's official website. They have the option to vote for up to 5 times in a day.
The All-Star race is an annual, non-championship race. Held over a distance of 100 miles at North Wilkesboro. The winner of the race gets $1 million as prize money, and as mentioned, no championship points are added. The race this year has a new format and the qualifying session will be held on Friday with heat races on Saturday with the drivers who are eligible to take part.
What is the eligibility for drivers to take part in the NASCAR All-Star Race?
Drivers who have won the Cup Series Championships or the drivers who have won a race in the Cup series in the running season and the season before are directly eligible to take part in the All-Star race. A past All-Star race winner is also eligible for the race, given that they still race in the series full-time.
Furthermore, the top two finishing drivers from the All-Star Open also secure a place, and finally, the most-voted driver by the fans gets a secured place in the main race on Sunday. The qualifying session for this year's race will be determined by two 60-lap heat races, following which the All-Star Open will be held.
NASCAR will return to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the second consecutive year in a row. The track had not appeared on the calendar since the 1996 season. It is a 0.625-mile oval circuit.

Larson is also the current leader in the standings, with 2 races and 7 stage wins, leading the races for a whopping 649 laps in the season so far. He is also the second-most successful driver in the NASCAR All-Star Race, having won the race three times.
