Daniel Suarez is all set to marry his fiancee Julia Piquet in Brazil next month. The Trackhouse Racing driver will get hitched in the South American country when he travels there for his NASCAR Brazil Series race as per journalist Bob Pockrass.
Suarez and Piquet have been in a relationship since 2019. They got engaged in 2022 while they were on vacation in Europe. Now, after having dated for five years, they have decided to marry in Piquet's home country.
Discussing his love for Brazil, Suarez told media:
"Brazil is a country that is very close to my heart. Julia, she’s already from Brazil. Her entire family is in Brazil.”
After they get hitched, Suarez will be the brother-in-law of F1's defending champion Max Verstappen. Julia is the sister of Verstappen's partner, Kelly Piquet.
Pokrass wrote on X:
"Daniel Suarez will get married in Brazil and then a handful of days later be in the car for the NASCAR Brazil event Aug 4."
Their association would mean two racing worlds converging in a single family. Julia is also the daughter of three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet and the sister of former F1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr.
Daniel Suarez to race in the NASCAR Brazil Series in August
A regular on the NASCAR Cup Series scene in the United States, Daniel Suarez is also set to race in Brazil in the first week of August.
Suarez, the driver of the #99 Chevrolet, will drive at Interlagos in Stage 5 of the 2024 NASCAR Brasil Series calendar.
The Trackhouse driver told media:
"When I found out that they were gonna be having a NASCAR Brasil race in Interlagos on a race track that is so historic… it was a no-brainer for me. I started having some conversations with NASCAR and NASCAR Brasil and I got the opportunity, so super excited. Very fortunate to have this opportunity."
Suarez's Brazil visit for the race as well as his marriage comes during the multi-week break in NASCAR's stock racing series in America due to the 2024 Summer Olympics being held in Paris, France.
Daniel Suarez has had a decent season so far in the Cup Series. He has already qualified for the playoffs thanks to his Ambetter Health 400 win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February. Besides that, he has picked up two top-5 and three top-10 finishes so far in 2024.
