Recently, Brad Keselowski playfully admitted not trusting Austin Cindric to give the RFK Racing driver a hairstyle. As a result, the Team Penske driver Cindric had a counter and a hairstyle ready for Keselowski's remark.
In a conversation with Andrew Kurland of Dirty Mo Media, several Cup Series playoff drivers were asked which of their fellow competitors they would allow to give them a hairstyle.
A couple of them sided with Team Penske driver Ryan Blaney, for his history of keeping a nice hairdo and some were against Cindric for his stubble hairstyle. Moreover, Blaney claimed that the 26-year-old would also mess up his hairstyle if given a chance.
When Kurland asked Keselowski for his pick in the round of questions, he said:
"Probably not Austin Cindric. He'll just bring out the razor and be like (imitates the sound of a razor), done." [9:50]
Furthermore, Kurland asked Cindric for his reaction to Keselowski's statement where the #2 Ford driver suggested a hairstyle for the #6 driver and said:
"Well if you are going for style points, yeah, I'm probably not going to put whole lot of efforts into it cuz I feel like a dude's hair is not the most important thing in the world. So yeah, maybe Brad would end up with a buzz cut." [10:01]
"Just proud of everyone," Austin Cindric on Team Penske's performance in Atlanta playoff race
Team Penske drivers Austin Cindric, Joey Logano, and Ryan Blaney had an impressive start to their chase for the championship in the first Round of 16 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Logano drove through the victory lane while Cindric and Blaney finished in the top 10.
In a post-race interaction from the recent Atlanta race, Cindric reflected on Roger Penske's drivers' performance in the first playoff race and said:
"The number two car was obviously great out front, leading the race, and Ryan and I were really able to dominate those first two stages. So, but just proud of every one at Team Penske for performance. That combination has been so dominant on these Speedway tracks all year, and it's frustrating that it's taken us this long to get one, but obviously, congrats to 22 guys moving on and making it happen."
Cindric was the first from the Team Penske shed to secure a playoff spot by claiming his second career victory at the 2024 Enjoy Illinois 300 race. As things stand, reigning Cup Series champion Blaney leads the points table while Joey Logano is at P5. Meanwhile, Cindric is comfortably sitting 27 points above the playoff cutline.
