Chris Buescher faced difficulties while exiting the pit road and blamed John Hunter Nemechek at the Coca-Cola 600 event. Buescher then let out his anger on #42 Nemechek over his #17 team's radio.
The rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 race wasn't the only factor that created problems for some Cup Series drivers at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Exiting the pit road created chaos for the RFK Racing driver Buescher.
The #17 encountered difficulties as he got stalled in the pit box because of the #42 Toyota. Buescher had to back up to avoid contact with Nemechek on the pit road. This led to the RFK Racing driver losing spots in the running order.
As a result of the boxed-in situation, the 31-year-old Buescher blasted Nemechek over his team radio. Buescher said (via Jordan Bianchi on X):
"F***ing 42 car (John Hunter Nemechek). Piece of sh**."
Chris Buescher finished the race at P23, while John Hunter Nemechek crossed the checkered flag at the 30th spot. Christopher Bell turned out to be victorious as NASCAR called off the race after 249 laps due to severe weather conditions.
The #17 Buescher wasn't the only one who faced stalled pit road problems. #11 Denny Hamlin was the first driver who faced issues while exiting his pit stall.
The pit stall drama between Denny Hamlin and Chris Buescher
Denny Hamlin was the first to address the stalled pit road issue at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26.
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Hamlin kept losing spots as RFK Racing's Buescher parked early in the stall which was placed ahead of Hamlin. The pit boxes on the Charlotte racetrack are tight in some areas. For this reason, Hamlin had to back up to get around Buescher on the pit road. This incident led to an exchange of words over the #11 team radio between Hamlin and his crew chief, Chris Gabehart.
#11 Toyota's crew chief on the radio said:
"Brother, if I do anything more than I’ve already done, we’re going to FIGHT! Do you understand? I've done all I can do!"
The 43-year-old Hamlin responded by saying:
"That’s what I’m going to do next time. Do you hear me 17? Park in your Goddamn box! I will stomp on your(Chris Buescher) bumper!"
Later on, things settled down between Hamlin and the RFK driver. According to Jordan Bianchi, the #17 Buescher pitted differently the next time. This allowed #11 Hamlin to leave clearly, and finish in the top five.
"Chris Buescher's team asking him if he can come into the pit box differently than he has throughout the race."
However, this in-race adjustment between Hamlin and Buescher led to the initial stalled moment where a frustrated Buescher had to back up to get past Legacy Motor Club driver John Hunter Nemechek.
