Daniel Suarez has supported NASCAR's decision to introduce a range of tire options. Following the successful use of wet weather tires at the North Wilkesboro All-Star race in 2023, and again at Richmond Raceway's first race of the season, NASCAR plans to offer drivers new "option" tires at their next visit.

The "option" tires, which debuted at the 2024 All-Star race at North Wilkesboro, have a trade-off between short-term grip and long-term durability compared to the harder, more durable "prime" tires.

Pleased with this development, Daniel Suarez expressed his approval to Bob Pockrass, noting the strategic possibilities these options introduce to the races (via BobPockrass on X):

"I'm a big fan of this. Because you're gonna mix up the tire anymore. You're gonna have to see different options. You're gonna have to play around with different tires is a little bit more and I think that doesn't make them feel even more.
Right now, it's not a secret that it's not easy to pass, like in the old five years ago. [...] It takes more work to be able to do something like that. So, I feel like having option tires is one more thing into the equation of the stride and I am a big fan of that," he said.

At the All-Star Race, the option tires will be easily identifiable by their red sidewall lettering, while the prime tires will continue to feature the traditional yellow labeling. Additionally, white-lettered wet-weather tires, suitable for road courses and the circuit’s shorter ovals, will be available for use under damp conditions.

Daniel Suarez plans to race in the NASCAR Brasil Series during the 2024 Summer Olympics break

The #99 Trackhouse Racing driver, Daniel Suarez, revealed on Tuesday his plans to participate in the NASCAR Brasil Series during the first week of August, coinciding with the NASCAR Cup Series' break for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The event is especially important to Suarez as he is set to marry Julia Piquet, daughter of former F1 champion Nelson Piquet, in Brazil. Discussing this opportunity, Daniel Suarez shared with NASCAR:

"Brazil is a country that is very close to my heart. Julia (Piquet, fiancée), she's already from Brazil. Her entire family is in Brazil. I've been competing in Brazil since 2015, endurance races in go-karts, and I have got to know the culture, the people, and the motorsport love to a different level. I've been competing almost every year, pretty much, since 2015, and I love it so much. That's why I do it."

Before that, Daniel Suarez and the rest of the Cup Series will compete at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Sunday. The series will then resume after the Summer Olympic break at Richmond Raceway on August 11.
