The drivers of the NASCAR Cup Series are scheduled to be at the 2.66-mile-long tri-oval superspeedway on Sunday, October 6, as the action at the season’s fifth playoff racing weekend continues at Talladega Superspeedway.

In Saturday’s (October 5) Cup Series qualifying, Michael McDowell claimed his sixth Cup Series pole of the season to lead the 40-driver field to the green flag at Talladega.

Ryan Blaney, who won last year’s YellaWood 500 at The Dega, will look to win again this weekend.

The weather forecast for Sunday at Talladega predicts partly cloudy skies with a high temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit and a three percent chance of rain at the time of the YellaWood 500.
