Following Christopher Bell's magnificent victory at the dirt racing competition at Tulsa Expo Raceway, Joe Gibbs Racing added his drive as a memento to their headquarters. Bell won the Non-Wing Outlaw of Tulsa Shootout that took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week.
NASCAR Journalist John Newby recently took to his official X account on Thursday to share a picture of Bell's drive from Tulsa Expo Raceway. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver's yellow #21 PristineAuction.com looked bright in front of their office lobby.
Here's what Newby wrote about JGR's new addition:
"Joe Gibbs Racing added a new car to the lobby this morning. Fitting choice after Christopher Bell won in his dirt return."
Christopher Bell claimed the impressive win ahead of his NASCAR colleague, Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports. Both Cup Series drivers gave each other a run for their money, but it was the #20 driver who had the last laugh.
Besides the Non-Wing Outlaw, Bell also participated in the Winged A-class and Stock Non-wing at the Tulsa Shootout. A three-time Chili Bowl Nationals champion, Bell will stay in Tulsa to participate in next week's Super Bowl of Midget Racing, Chili Bowl Nationals.
Christopher Bell returned to dirt racing for the first time since joining Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021. The champion in midget racing has been out of action in this racing category since Joe Gibbs' team did not allow its drivers to compete in any racing series other than NASCAR.
However, in November last year, Joe Gibbs informed that he would allow JGR drivers to try their luck in dirt racing amid the off-season break. As a result, several JGR drivers (Ty Gibbs, Christopher Bell, and Chase Briscoe) took part in dirt races in Tulsa and will participate in the upcoming Chili Bowl Nationals from January 13 to January 18.
What did Joe Gibbs say about allowing Christopher Bell and company for dirt racing?
Joe Gibbs, the owner of Joe Gibbs Racing, opened up about allowing his drivers to participate in the racing competitions apart from NASCAR. Earlier, JGR prevented its drivers from participating in other racing series, keeping in mind their safety ahead of the new season.
Here's what Joe Gibbs told Jeff Gluck of The Athletic in December last year:
"We sort of talked things over to come up with a process by which they can request to run certain races," Gibbs told The Athletic. "If they get approval from everyone they need on our competition side, then they are free to run the race. That includes dirt, but also potentially other forms of racing."
Joe Gibbs Racing will continue fielding four cars in the 2025 Cup Series season with three existing drivers, and one new driver. Ty Gibbs, Bell, and Denny Hamlin will drive their designated #54, #20, and #11 Toyota Camry XSEs, while Chase Briscoe, who joined the team to replace retirement-bound Martin Truex Jr. will drive the #19 car.
