After a thrilling The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway, the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Speedway, Indiana, for another thriller, Brickyard 400.

The 22nd race of the season is expected to be exciting as the Next Gen car will run for the first time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval track. All drivers who will take the field will be racing to win Sunday’s 160-lap race at the 2.5-mile-long rectangular-shaped oval track.

Along with the win, there will be monetary rewards for the winners across NASCAR's top-tier series. In 2024, the Cup Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway boasts a prize pool of $9,596,601.

Meanwhile, the Xfinity and Truck Series races will reward the winner with $1,873,623 and $672,492, respectively.

Live action of the Indianapolis Cup race can be enjoyed live on NBC Sports, USA Network, Peacock and IMS. It will be broadcast on Sunday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m. ET.


What is Brickyard 400 prize money for 2024?

All 39 drivers participating across NASCAR’s three national series will compete for monetary incentives this weekend in Speedway, Indiana.

Renowned FOX Sports journalist Bob Pockrass tweeted the total prize pool that will be up for grabs this weekend at Indianapolis across the Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series:

“Purses for IMS and IRP, including all payouts, all positions, contribution to year-end pt funds, contingency awards, and for Cup, payouts to charter teams for competing and historical performance: Cup: $9,596,601 Xfinity: $1,873,623 Truck: $672,492”

Brickyard 400 Prize Money Breakdown: How much will the winner make at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway?

According to NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass, the winner of the 2024 Brickyard 400 is likely to receive between eight and 10 percent of the total purse. The remaining purse will be divided among the full-time NASCAR Cup Series' 36 charter teams according to their finishing position, charter status, etc.

As per this assumption, the winner of Sunday's Brickyard 400 at IMS will likely get eight to 10 percent of the overall prize money of $9,596,601, which means a check of around $700,000–900,000.

NASCAR Cup Series action begins with practice on Friday (July 19) at 1:05 pm ET, followed by Saturday’s qualifying at 12:05 pm ET, while the main event is on Sunday. Practice and qualifying for the 22nd race can be watched live on NBC Sports and USA Network.
