NASCAR at Talladega Lineup 2024: Starting Order & Pole for 2024 YellaWood 500

After an eventful Kansas race, the 2024 NASCAR season heads to Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama, for the YellaWood 500. The fifth playoff race of the season will go live on NBC Sports at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 6.

The Talladega race will be contested on a 2.66-mile-long tri-oval superspeedway. Forty drivers will compete over 188 laps to drive down victory lane. FOX Sports journalist Bob Pockrass tweeted the starting lineup for the 2024 YellaWood 500.

Who is on pole for YellaWood 500?

In Saturday’s (October 5) Cup Series qualifying, Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell claimed his sixth pole of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season with a speed of 183.063 mph. This is the seventh career pole for McDowell.

Team Penske driver Austin Cindric will share the front row with him after a lap of 182.424 mph.

The pair will be followed by Todd Gilliland, Kyle Busch, and the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion and winner of the event, Ryan Blaney, in the top five. Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin, Harrison Burton, and Daniel Hemric completed the top 10.
