NASCAR veteran driver Kenny Wallace recently revealed his top picks for the most iconic car question asked by the high-performance parts-selling company JEGS Performance on X. Wallace named two big car manufacturers as his all-time favorites.
Wallace is a nine-time Xfinity Series winner, retired stock car racing driver, and TV personality. He is the brother of NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Rusty Wallace. He retired from stock car racing in 2015 and has worked with Fox Sports during his broadcasting career. Even after retiring from professional racing, Wallace still races on local dirt tracks across the country as a hobby.
Recently, the JEGS Performance team asked their fans a question about "the most iconic car ever made" on their X account, and Wallace joined the debate and gave a verdict on his top two iconic cars. He wrote:
"The corvette. A close second is the the Burt Reynolds FIREBIRD😁"
The former NASCAR driver highlighted that his top pick is the Chevrolet Corvette. General Motors and Chevrolet began producing the iconic American sports car in 1953. The car has come a long way and is still in production after over 70 years.
Currently, the car is in its eighth generation, featuring a two-door coupe and a two-door convertible/roadster version. Since the second generation, the designers have followed the Sting Ray model to build the car. The price for the current generation starts from $69,995, and the top trim costs $88,745.
Former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace's second pick was the 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The car caught everyone's attention when it was featured in legendary American actor Burt Reynolds' movie 'Smokey and the Bandit' in 1977. The car came packed with a 6.6-liter, eight-cylinder engine paired with an automatic transmission.
NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace dropped an update on his plans for dirt racing in 2025
Former Fox Sports reporter Kenny Wallace confirmed his return to dirt racing in 2025. During his pre-race show NASCAR Raceday, Wallace stated he would compete in the DIRTcar Nationals this month at the Volusia Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Wallace confirmed his plans by sharing a post on his X account stating:
"I will be racing the @DIRTcarNats at @VolusiaSpeedway from January 30th through February 8th. See you there 🏁"
Wallace further discussed his plans to compete in dirt car racing at Volusia Speedway in his recent short series "Coffee with Kenny" on X. In the video, he revealed that the Florida track got a new schedule for the 2025 season, but he will still compete on the track. He added:
"We start racing January 30th, January 31st, and February 1st. It's a new schedule at Volusia this year. I don't know why, but we're running dirt races in nine nights. We start January 30th. You're gonna hear racers go, 'I'm going down in January this year.' That's because you race three days"
Prior to the event, the former NASCAR driver will go on a trip to Italy on January 17 with his buddy John Scatoni.
