Daniel Suarez recently opened up about his racing experiences in Brazil
Daniel Suarez has taken part in the NASCAR Brazil series, winning in one of the two back-to-back races he entered. Although he crossed the finish line first in the initial race, a five-second penalty for aggressive driving relegated him to a lower position. But then, he clinched victory in the next race despite finishing second, benefiting from a penalty given to Lucas Mendes, who originally finished first.
Daniel Suarez had expressed his excitement about competing in Brazil even before the races began, given his personal connections to the country. He shared [via NASCAR]:
"Brazil is a country that is very close to my heart. Julia, she’s already from Brazil. [...] I’ve been competing in Brazil since 2015, endurance races in go-karts, and I have got to know the culture, the people, and the motorsport love to a different level. [...] When I found out that they were gonna be having a NASCAR Brasil race in Interlagos on a race track that is so historic … it was a no-brainer for me."
Currently, Daniel Suarez is ranked P17 in the NASCAR Cup driver standings with 460 points, including a win at Texas Motor Speedway, two top-5 finishes, and four top-10 finishes. In his last 10 races, he has managed to finish in the top 10 twice.
