Former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace recently informed his followers about a 'new tradition' their family had started for Christmas. Taking to his social media account, the racing veteran informed his followers of a new tradition on the big day.
Wallace was among the former and current NASCAR drivers to share glimpses of Christmas festivities on social media, as he shared a series of pictures from his X account. In the post, he also unraveled how his wife, Kim wanted to try out something new on Christmas day. Here's what he wrote about it:
"NEW tradition for the Kenny Wallace family. We are celebrating on Christmas Eve, so our girls can start their own family new traditions. Kim said she wants to go to the casino on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everyone."
Wallace's post about Christmas comes after the former NASCAR driver shared his frustration over the Christmas day rush in restaurants. In one of his recent posts, he pointed out how the restaurants during this time are always full and people cannot celebrate outside despite taking time off from work.
Wallace retired from NASCAR (Xfinity Series) at the end of the 2015 season and joined UMPDirtCar modified to race on dirt tracks. He joined the series in 2016, and to this day, he often fancies going for a race.
Whenever he is not racing, or covering races with Ken Schrader via the Herm & Schrader podcast, he goes out with his family on trips — something he did last week.
Kenny Wallace had a trip to forget as he went cruising with family
Before Christmas, Kenny Wallace took his family on a cruise trip. However, his experience on the trip wasn't worth remembering. Recalling the incident, Wallace shared a video on X on December 20, where he summed up his trip.
From being sick and tired to having airport delays, the Wallace and company faced it all, that too at such old age. As he returned from the trip, he recalled what his friend Dick Trickle (a former NASCAR driver) used to say about going on vacation when he was alive.
"I think of Dick Trickle every single time I go on vacation," Wallace said. "Dick Trickle would say, 'my boy, you know why we go on vacation?' And I'm like, 'No, Dick, why do we go on vacation?' He said, 'So we can go back home." (1:30 onwards)
Wallace is a former NASCAR driver with 905 appearances across three national series races. In the Cup Series, he participated in 344 races in over 18 years, where he claimed three pole positions and 27 Top 10s.
In the Xfinity Series, the 61-year-old had 547 entries, with nine victories, 10 pole positions, and 173 Top 10s. Even though he attracted significant attention for his Cup and Xfinity Series races, his participation in the Truck and Canada series was limited. He took part in 13 Truck Series races and a solitary race in the Canada series.
