The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series completed the first race of the round of eight of the playoffs, and Kaulig Racing's AJ Allmendinger secured his spot in the Championship 4 round. He won the Ambetter Health 302 held on 19 October 2024 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Allmendinger family was seen celebrating the victory.

Recently, Allmendinger's wife Tara shared a story of her one-year-old son Aero James in his Lamborghini Aventador SVJ performing stunts on her Instagram. She shot the video of her son sliding into his new car and making donuts on the road with their dog in his ride. She captioned the post:

This is the same car AJ Allmendinger pranked his wife about a month ago. He took her to the garage, hyping her up for the car, but when the door opened, she was surprised and burst out laughing. The Lambo Allmendinger bought was a remote-controlled car for kids. However, this did not stop Tara from taking it out for a spin herself.

The Kaulig Racing driver also surprised his son Aero James with the car. The couple gave their son a white helmet matching the color of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. James enjoyed his time spinning around the car in the streets, feeling like a race car driver.

AJ Allmendinger dominated the opening race of the round of eight playoff

The Kaulig Racing driver entered the Championship 4 round for the second time in his career, after securing a maiden victory in 2024 at the Ambetter Health 302. The #16 Chevy Camaro driver did not have quite a strong start and qualified in ninth place with a best time of 29.635 seconds. He was 0.285 seconds behind the leader of the pack, JR Motorsports Brandon Jones.

During Stage 1 of the race, the #00 Ford driver Cole Custer led Stage 1, and Allmendinger jumped five spots and finished in fourth place, earning seven additional points. By the end of Stage 2, the Kaulig Racing driver started picking up pace and finished as the runner-up to Justin Allgaier.

AJ Allmendinger took the lead after a restart in lap 103 and held to it for the remaining laps. He then pit-stopped in lap 147 and again gained the lead from Josh Williams during lap 152. He soon managed to lead the drivers with a three-second time gap and increased it to 3.3 seconds in lap 169.

The 42-year-old driver had a head-to-head battle with RSS Racing #28 Ford driver Ryan Seig, but he made no mistake in the final moments of the race and crossed the victory line in first place. Allmendinger now leads the NASCAR playoff standings with a seven-point buffer from the cut line, followed by Allgaier and Custer.
