Allmendinger, nicknamed “the Dinger”, is a part-time Cup Series driver for Kaulig Racing. He is also a champion in NASCAR, having won the Xfinity Series championship consecutively in 2021 and 2022. A.J. Allmendinger is a veteran in the Xfinity Series and competes full-time in the series for Kaulig Racing. Allmendinger drives the no.16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the Xfinity Series full-time and the no.16 and 13 cars in the Cup Series part-time.
A.J. Allmendinger was released from a long-standing contract with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2018. He started as an open-wheel racer and earned the Rookie of the Year honors in 2004 in the Champ Car World Series.
Allmendinger has claimed six wins in his Champ Car career with a best finish of third place in 2006.
