Allison Thorson recently expressed her dissatisfaction as Ty Majeski lost the $12,500 fine appeal at the National Motorsports Appeals Panel (NMAP). The ThorSport Racing driver Majeski missed the Championship 4 media day and instead traveled to his home state to cast a vote for the 2024 presidential elections.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Thorson, who initially supported the 2024 Truck Series champion Majeski's decision, mentioned all the major multinational news organizations and wrote:
"Wonder what American citizens think on this one @washingtonpost @newyorkpost @USATDAY @TODAYshow @FoxNews @CNN"
Moreover, renowned journalist Bob Pockrass shared a statement from the appeal panel upholding the fine for the #98 Ford driver Majeski. Pockrass wrote:
"Panel: “Driver failed to meet contractual agreement with NASCAR. One of the most, if not most, important media obligations of the entire season."
Fox Sports' Pockrass also reported that NASCAR didn't know Majeski's reason for skipping the media obligations and claimed they would have worked out a schedule with Ty Majeski to fulfill both duties.
"Election days don't happen every day" - Allison Thorson supported Ty Majeski for missing the Championship 4 media day to cast a vote
Back in November, Allison Thorson shared his thoughts on the NASCAR-imposed fine for Ty Majeski and how the Truck Series team respects Majeski's right as a U.S. citizen.
Speaking with media, the daughter of the co-owners of ThorSport Racing said:
"Let's focus on, first of all, we are all lucky to live in the United States of America and we get the right to vote. If it wasn't that we didn't live in America, there's a reason why everyone's coming here and there's a reason why there's so many fans of NASCAR. First, we're going to respect his rights as a U.S. citizen. It's unfortunate that there's media on the same day as Election Day, but Election Days don't happen every day." [0:20]
Moreover, Thorson urged NASCAR to see it from the perspective of a proud American citizen and claimed Majeski would have been present for any other media obligations.
As the offseason is in full swing, Ty Majeski missed his chance to create history in the biggest Super Late Model race, the Snowball Derby. Majeski, the defending winner of the short-track pavement racing, finished third after a chunk of track diminished his chances of capitalizing on his third win at Five Flags Speedway.
