Ryan Blaney is a third-generation racer and the son of ex-NASCAR driver, Dave Blaney. He is the 2023 NASCAR Champion who became the first driver born in Ohio to claim the title. He has been consistently qualifying for the NASCAR playoffs for seven seasons with Team Penske. Ryan Blaney was the runner-up in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series. He achieved three victories in the 2024 season of the Cup Series. Blaney is the driver for Team Penske in their no. 12 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

Blaney has been racing in the Cup Series since 2014. He started his first full-time season in NASCAR in 2016 with Wood Brothers Racing. Blaney switched over to Team Penske in 2018. Blaney has produced 13 victories and 149 Top-10s in the NASCAR Cup series in his career, as of February 2025. Blaney has managed to win one Crown Jewel race, as of February 2025. He won the Coca-Cola 600 in 2023.

Blaney was raised in Hartford Township, Trumbull County, Ohio by his father, Dave Blaney, and his mother, Lisa Blaney. His grandfather Lou Blaney was a renowned modified dirt track driver. Blaney’s father Dave Blaney was a NASCAR Cup Series racer who started 473 races throughout his career. He was nicknamed “Buckeye Bullet” and retired from the sport in 2014. Ryan Blaney also has two sisters, Emma and Erin. Erin Blaney is related to NASCAR driver and Hendrick Motorsports sensation, William Byron.
