Tyler Seguin is a professional ice hockey player who plays as a forward and serves as the alternate captain for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins as the 2nd overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Level Draft and contributed to the Boston Bruins' Stanley Cup victory in his rookie season.

After being traded to the Dallas Stars from the Boston Bruins in 2013, Seguin wasted no time making an impact, consistently netting over 33 goals per season in his first years with the Stars. Moreover, during the 2017-28 season, he led the NHL in plus-minus rating, recorded multiple hat tricks, and reached the milestone of scoring 40 goals in a season, his highest in a season to date. In addition to this, he has been named to the NHL All-Star Game six times in his career.

Tyler Seguin holds Canadian nationality and has represented Canada at the international level. His international ice hockey career began at the 2009 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, where he represented Canada Ontario and led the tournament in assists, helping his team win the gold medal. He continued to excel on the international stage, winning gold at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the 2009 World U-17 Hockey Challenge with Team Ontario.

Although he initially missed selection for the Canada U18 and World Junior teams, Seguin eventually represented Canada at the senior level. In 2015, he was part of Canada's gold medal-winning team at the World Hockey Championships held in the Czech Republic.

Tyler Seguin grew up in Whitby, Ontario and began his hockey journey in a house league at the age of five/six, developing a passion for the sport early on. He played minor ice hockey for the Wildcats of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association before joining the Toronto Nationals of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). During his time with the Toronto Nationals, he played alongside future NHL player Jeff Skinner.

Seguin also spent four years at St. Michael's College School in Toronto, aiming to pursue a hockey career and eventually play for the University of Michigan. In his amateur playing career, Seguin was drafted by the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the first round of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
