Early Life and Career

Adriano Moraes was an abandoned child born in Brasilia and spent the first three years in an orphanage. His life took turns when his stepmother adopted and raised him as a single mother. Her idea was to send him to judo classes when he was seven.

While growing up, Moraes fell into bad company, and to protect himself from other harm, he started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and slowly started competing in tournaments.

Adriano Moraes made his professional debut on September 4, 2011, and won the fight via a guillotine choke submission in the first round.

Adriano Moraes's Career in ONE Championship

Adriano Moraes made his ONE Championship debut on November 15, 2013, against Yusup Saadulaev and lost the fight via decision.

For his next two fights, Moraes defeated Yasuhiro Urushitani and Kosuke Suzuki via submission.

On September 12, 2014, Ariano Moraes won the inaugural ONE Championship flyweight title by defeating Geje Eustaquio via a guillotine choke submission. He successfully defended the title for once against Riku Shibuya on March 13, 2015.

Moraes lost the flyweight title to Kairat Akhmetov on November 21, 2015.

Adriano Moraes won the interim ONE flyweight championship on August 13, 2016, by defeating Tilek Batyrov and later unified the title by defeating Kairat Akhmetov on July 5, 2017.

Moraes successfully defended the title against Danny Kingad on November 10, 2017.

On June 23, 2018, Moraes lost the title to Geje Eustaquio via a split decision. Moraes fought back his title from Eustaquio on January 25, 2019.

Adriano Moraes successfully defended the title against Demetrious Johnson and Yuya Walamatsu.

For his last fight, Adriano Moraes faced Demetrious Johnson and lost the bout via a flying knee knockout in the fourth round.
