Aisuluu Tynybekova: A Brief Biography
Aisuluu Tynybekova is a Kyrgyzstani female wrestler born on 4th May 1993. She hails from Bishkek city in Kyrgyzstan. Aisuluu specializes in Freestyle wrestling and represents her country in the 62 kg category.
Aisuluu Tynybekova began to discover wrestling at the age of 15. Before taking up wrestling, she was pursuing an interest in basketball and also trained in martial arts. In 2009, Aisuluu began to pursue wrestling professionally. That year, she got her first international career breakthrough when she won the Gold medal at the Asian Junior Wrestling Championships.
In 2012, Aisuluu Tynybekova became the first female wrestler from Kyrgyzstan to qualify for the Olympics. She competed in the 63 kg Freestyle category but was knocked out in the first round by Henna Johansson at the London Olympics. In 2013, Aisuluu won the Bronze medal in the 59 kg category at the Asian Wrestling Championships. That year, in July, she took home the Bronze medal in the 59 kg at the Summer Universiade.
Between 2014 and 2021, Aisuluu Tynybekova won four Gold medals (2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021), two Silver medals (2014 and 2015), and a Bronze (2020) at the Asian Wrestling Championships. At the Asian Games, she took home a Gold medal (2018 in 62 kg) and a Bronze (2014 in 55 kg).
In 2016, Aisuluu appeared in her second Olympics at the Rio Games but lost to Sakshi Malik in the 58 kg Bronze medal bout. At the World Wrestling Championships, she won a Gold medal (2019 in 62 kg) and a Bronze (2017 in 58 kg). In 2020, Aisuluu clinched the Gold medal in the 62 kg category at the Individual Wrestling World Cup.
Aisuluu Tynybekova qualified for her third Olympics at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and will compete in the women’s 62 kg Freestyle category.
