Alessandro Matri: A Brief Biography

Alessandro Matri was born in Sant\'Angelo Lodigiano, Italy. He is an Italian footballer who plays for Italian Serie A club Juventus F.C and the Italian national team as a striker. He started his career at Milan and made his debut against Piacenza Calcio on May 24th, 2003 as a starter. Matri was scouted by A.C. Milan back in 1996 and eventually signed with the Rossoneri on a long-term contract. In the 2004–05 and 2005–06 seasons, he left on off on loan to Prato playing in 64 Serie C1 matches. In season 2006–07, he was loaned to Rimini, Serie B team and scored five goals, including one in Coppa Italia. Thereafter matri signed a permanent contract with Cagliari Calcio in 2007 in a co-ownership deal, for €2 million. He has 36 goals from 125 appearence to his credit. On 31 January 2011, he officially signed fwith Juventus on a permanent deal. On 5 February, Matri scored his first two goals for Juventus on his return to Cagliari. On 2 April 2012 Juventus announced that Matri had added 2 more years to his current contract. Internationally, Alessandro Matri earned his first call up for the Italian national team for a friendly match against Germany on 9 February 2011. He scored his first goal for Italy in the friendly game against Ukraine played in Kiev on 29 th March.
