Arjun Lal Jat is an Indian rower hailing from the Nayabas village of Churu district in Rajasthan. He comes from a humble family of farmers. Arjun represents India internationally in lightweight double sculls.
Arjun Lal Jat- Early Life, Family & Background
Arjun Lal Jat came across rowing while serving in the Indian Army. He had no knowledge about the sport until Bajranglal Takhar introduced him and his rowing partner Aravind Singh to the sport. Arjun and Aravind both joined the Indian Army in 2017. Both weighed 72.5 kgs at the time of joining.
Arjun Lal Jat Biography & Acheivements
In 2018, Arjun Lal Jat and Aravind Singh were selected as reserves by the Rowing Federation of India for the Jakarta Asian Games in Indonesia. At the event, the lightweight double sculls team of Rohith Kumar and Bhagawan Singh bagged the bronze medal. In 2019, Arjun and Aravind clinched their first international medal by taking home the Silver medal at the Asian Rowing Championships in Chungju, South Korea.
In 2021, Arjun Lal Jat and Aravind Singh booked their Olympic berth in lightweight double sculls at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after finishing second at the Asian qualifying event in Tokyo, Japan.
