Arvind Singh: A Brief Biography
Arvind Singh is an Indian rower who hails from the Khabra village of Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a family of farmers. Arvind represents India internationally in lightweight double sculls.
Arvind Singh- Early Life, Family & Background
Arvind Singh was introduced to rowing while serving in the Army. He was interested in cricket and athletics. He didn’t know anything about rowing until he joined the Army. Indian Olympian Bajranglal Takhar introduced him and his rowing partner Arvind Singh to the sport.
Arvind Singh Achievements
In 2018, Arvind Singh and Arjun Jat were picked up as reserves for the Jakarta Asian Games, when Rohith Kumar and Bhagawan Singh won the bronze medal in the lightweight double sculls. The following year, Arvind and Arjun won their first international medal by taking home a Silver medal at the Asian Rowing Championships in Chungju, South Korea.
In 2021, Arvind Singh and Arjun Jat booked their Olympic berth in lightweight double sculls at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after finishing second at the Asian qualifying event in Tokyo, Japan.
