The Atlanta Braves are one of the most popular teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). They are notable for participating as a member of the National League (NL) East Division of MLB. They are one of the oldest sports franchises in America.

The Atlanta Braves had their beginnings as the Boston Red Stockings in 1871. After years of playing and changing their names, they are using their present names. They were one of the most successful teams in the MLB from 1991 to 2005 and won division titles for 14 consecutive times. They also had some of the best pitchers in the squad like Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz.

The Atlanta Braves are the only team that has won three different World Series titles in three different home cities. They are continuing to win the hearts of the fans with their superior baseball skills.

Atlanta Braves History

In 1871, the Atlanta Braves started their run as the Boston Red Stockings. They were in Boston from 1871 to 1953 when they shifted to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. They won the National League Pennant for multiple years while they were in Boston.b They also faced great success in Milwaukee as the Milwaukee Braves. They finally came to Atlanta in 1966 and became the Atlanta Braves.

Despite losing its previous glory in between 1960-1980, the team flourished under Ted Turner and their fortunes also turned. From 1991 to 2005, they continuously won the NL East Division titles. They had a bad season in 2006 but returned to form in 2009 after the team was purchased by Liberty Media. The team dedicated itself to rebuilding and reforming itself from 2016 and 2018 under the new ownership. This allowed them to reacquire their former glory by winning the World Series Title in 2021. Since then, the team has been pursuing more title goals.

Atlanta Braves Owner

The current owners of the Atlanta Braves baseball team is Liberty Media. It is a mass media company from America that was founded by John C. Malone in 1991. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the team operates independently. Liberty Media does not put or take money out of the team. Whatever money is made by the team is spent by them only. They even introduced a new company called Atlanta Braves Holdings, LLC. This company will oversee the IP of the team , its cash related matters and other aspects like the Truist Park and The Batteries Atlanta. Atlanta Braves Holdings LLC has already started to indirectly own the team and its assets.

Apparently, it seems that Liberty Media might be setting the stage for a sale of the team.

The team’s second nickname “The team of the 90s” arises from the fact that they have won 14 consecutive divisional titles from the 1990 to 2005.
